People with mental illness are two to three times more likely to be tobacco-dependent than the general population and their attempts to quit almost always fail. There is a gap in the literature in that no studies could be found where the e-cigarette was used to help this population quit. This paper reports a research study with all the required parts that focuses on using the e-cigarette with a group of mentally ill persons who wanted to quit. It was very effective. There are seven sources listed in the bibliography of this twenty-five page paper.
