In Edwidge Danticat’s novel The Dew Breaker there is the story of a former Haitian torturer and his victims. Told in a series of short stories different aspects of the torturers life are revealed. The man, who has changed to a more kindly person, and can be seen for what he was, and for what he has become. The writer considers whether or not the man should be forgiven for his past. Three sources are cited in the bibliography of this ten page paper.
