The adolescent is challenged with many changes in all developmental areas. Cognitively, the teenager is now more capable of abstract reasoning and of devising hypotheses and testing those hypotheses. In terms of psycho-social development, the adolescent is trying to establish their own identity. He is trying on different roles to find what he wants to be himself. The adolescent experiences more physical changes at a speed that has not happened since infancy. This essay explains these changes.
